Program Overview
Our cosmetology and barber program prepares student to provide services in the salon environment. We prepare students to begin careers as salon stylists, barbers, and cosmetologists. Students are also trained for the proper techniques to use salon equipment. Our students will not only learn to perform the skills needed to be a licensed cosmetologist, but to also perform many techniques up to the professional degree.
We offer full-time and part-time courses that provide the students with a foundational skill required to enter the career in the beauty industry. Students learn hair cutting, makeup application, hair coloring, hair styling, skin care, and barbering. The curriculum is structured to teach students a good understanding of the fundamentals beauty industries, while teaching the technical skills necessary to enter the career they’ve been dreaming of.
Program Requirements
1. Cosmetology
The professional course in cosmetology requires the satisfactory completion of 1500 hours training. This will entitle you to take the Virginia State Board of Cosmetology Examination for the Virginia Cosmetology License.
2. Barber
The professional course in barbering requires the satisfactory completion of 1100 hours training. This will entitle you to take the Virginia State Board of Barber Examination for the Virginia Barber License.
Cosmetology (1500 Hours)

- Chemical texturing
- Skin
- Nail

Barber(1100 Hours)

- Men’s Hair cutting

Post Licensure Technical Training Classes
